100 Year Old Terrazzo Restoration
This terrazzo is in the Maverick Whiskey building downtown San Antonio, TX. The white section of the terrazzo floor was installed in the 1920’s. The red
terrazzo was installed later on in the 1950’s, there was a section wall dividing the two floors. The building has been vacant for many years, the new
owners renovated the building and wanted to keep the two sections of terrazzo how they are, they just requested to have the terrazzo polished to like
“new” condition. We began by grinding the terrazzo with 30 grit diamonds to expose a new layer and then continued with finer diamond pads until the
terrazzo floor was polished to a natural high shine. After polishing we sealed the terrazzo to help protect from staining.
